Commerce Resources welcomes opportunities to support worthy local community endeavours and has made contributions to several initiatives and events over the past couple years. Some of the more recent include:
• the Simpcw First Nation Career Fair 2010 -- Commerce was happy to accept an invitation from the Simpcw to participate in their annual Career Fair held on February 10, 2010. The Fair was a lively event that included exhibit booths, guest speakers, a panel discussion and traditional drumming. The event was open to all members of the public, and over 200 high school students from all over the North Thompson Valley attended. Commerce participated as a representative of the BC mineral exploration sector providing a display and discussion of assorted rocks and minerals, photos of mineral exploration activities and examples of geological data.
• the Raft River Fish Ceremony and Interpretive Science Programs -- this is a program coordinated by the Simpcw First Nation, which promotes fisheries resources to the public by having school children participate in learning about
salmon and their journey from rivers to the ocean and back again, and the importance of protecting their habitat
• the Physicians Recruitment Committee of Clearwater -- in support of an advertising campaign to recruit and retain physicians in Clearwater
